Job summary

Sayaji Foods Pvt. Ltd. in Navi Mumbai seeks an experienced Head of Sourcing to lead factory procurement and raw material sourcing across dairy, meat, spices, ingredients and packaging materials.

You will manage vendor relationships, negotiate prices, drive cost savings, establish annual rate contracts, and ensure timely material availability while complying with FSSAI guidelines and quality specifications. The role requires hands-on leadership in a factory environment and close collaboration

Qualifications

• 8 - 15 years of experience in procurement or sourcing within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong category knowledge across dairy, meat, spices, ingredients and packaging materials.
• Established vendor network across relevant procurement categories.
• Proven experience in cost optimisation, supplier development and annual contract negotiations.
• Experience in food manufacturing, sweets and snacks, QSR supply chains or related industries is preferred.
• Candidates from organisations such as DMB, Lal Sweets or similar food manufacturing companies will be preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Must be hands-on and comfortable working in a factory-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement for dairy products, meat, proteins, spices, seasonings, ingredients and packaging materials.
• Ensure timely and uninterrupted availability of raw materials to support factory production.
• Negotiate competitive prices, drive cost savings and identify alternate suppliers without compromising quality.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and establish annual rate contracts.
• Build a reliable supplier network with multiple approved vendors for critical materials.
• Monitor commodity prices, market trends and supplier performance to optimise purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, New Product Development and Finance teams.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, FSSAI requirements and material quality specifications.
• Optimise inventory levels, payment terms, credit periods and working capital.
• Monitor procurement costs, purchase price variance, supplier lead times and material rejection rates.
• Lead and develop the sourcing and procurement team.
• Use ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Excel for procurement planning, reporting and analysis.
