Job summary

Shoppers Stop is seeking a Sourcing Executive to manage end-to-end sourcing for apparel materials, fabrics, trims, and finished garments. The role focuses on OTIF, supplier relationships, cost optimization, and quality control to support profitable apparel production.

You will lead supplier evaluations, negotiate terms, and drive strategic sourcing initiatives while ensuring compliance with global standards and risk mitigation across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement in Garment management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and establish relationships with suppliers meeting quality, cost and capacity requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with existing suppliers to ensure reliability and consistent product quality.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular audits and address non-compliance.
• Ensure on-time in fulfilment; manage production planning with suppliers and timely inspection processes.
• Conduct annual supplier performance reviews with QA.
• Pursue and recover money due from vendors from penalties or markdown contributions.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
• Set and maintain strict quality standards for all apparel products and conduct inspections as needed.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives with suppliers.
• Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan for apparel aligned with company goals.
• Monitor market dynamics to decide on sourcing locations and strategies.
• Manage lead times, inventory levels and order quantities to meet demand.
• Identify risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
• Stay updated on global trade regulations and ensure compliance with international standards.
• Negotiate, draft and manage contracts with suppliers; ensure terms are favorable and compliant.

Job description

Sourcing Executive is responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process for apparel products, including but not limited to fabrics, trims, and finished garments. OTIF is the primary KRA for this role along with identifying and developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing costs to meet the company's apparel production needs. The Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and profitability of our apparel business.

Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers who can meet the company's quality, cost, and capacity requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with existing suppliers to ensure reliability and consistent product quality.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular audits, and address any issues or non-compliance.

OTIF Management :

• On time in fulfilment – Primary KRA for this role. Ensuring to launch all products on the launch date in fulfilment. This will involve capacity planning and production planning with suppliers along with ensuring all levers for timely inspection are in place.
• To conduct the annual review of supplier performance with QA.
• To pursue and recover all money due from vendors as a result of performance penalties or markdown and promotional contributions.
• Ensures timely delivery of samples by vendors where the product can go through a first-time right approval.

Cost Optimization

• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality.
• Analyze market trends and work with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
• Continuously review and optimize the supply chain to improve cost-efficiency.

Quality Control

• Set and maintain strict quality standards for all apparel products.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure that products meet quality specifications and conduct inspections when necessary.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers.

Procurement Strategy

• Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan for the apparel business in alignment with overall company goals.
• Monitor market dynamics and global trends to make informed decisions about sourcing locations and strategies.
• Manage lead times, inventory levels, and order quantities to meet demand.

Risk Management

• Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
• Stay updated on global trade regulations and compliance requirements for the apparel industry.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to international standards.

Vendor Contracts and Agreements

• Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure that all terms and conditions are favorable to the company's interests and compliant with legal and ethical standards.
