Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a solution architect for Forecourt Automation to advise the sales team and coordinate product development across R&D/engineering.

This role links customer needs to technically feasible solutions, provides pre- and post-sales support, and ensures delivery across oil and gas domains. Collaboration with service/projects and R&D is essential.

Qualifications

• Good technical knowledge of IoT, Cloud, Forecourt Control Technologies.
• Domain: Petroleum Downstream / Petroleum Retail.
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented and thorough.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sale technical support to business and customers.
• Accompany the Strategic Account Manager to discuss product sets with customers’ technical teams.
• Present existing capabilities and gather customer requirements for technical delivery.
• Supports R&D/engineering in defining requirements for cross-domain solutions.
• Defines impact of requirements on automation components for Oil & Gas.
• Collaborate with Service Technical team to improve capability of Service Engineers in the region.
• Hand over tender requirements to Service/Projects teams and liaise with Projects Manager.
• Provide insight to business leaders on integrating requirements with current systems.
• Review value gaps and opportunities for process enhancements.

The solution architect - _Forecourt Automation - exists to provide technical advice and support to the sales team, link the needs and desires of the customer to a technically feasible solution, and coordinate product development across R&D/engineering teams.

Responsibilities (List All)

• Provide pre-sales and post-sale technical support to business and customers.
• Accompany the Strategic Account Manager to discuss specific product sets and solutions to granular detail when interacting with the technical teams of the customers.
• Present existing technical capabilities to the customer and assist in gathering customer requirements and thinking through the technical methods of delivering to customer needs.
• Supports R&D/engineering teams in the development of requirements, for process or system solutions, which may span multiple business domains by leveraging partnerships with stakeholders and appropriate IT teams.
• Defines the impact of requirements on upstream and downstream Automation and related solution components in the Oil and Gas Industry,
• Work with the Service Technical team to maximize all opportunities to raise the technical ability and effectiveness of Service Engineers in the Region.
• Help handover tender technical requirements to the Service/ Projects team and liaise with the Projects Manager on all technical matters.
• Provides insight and influence business leaders on how to integrate requirements with current systems and business processes.
• Reviews, evaluates, and prioritizes value gaps and opportunities for process enhancements or efficiencies
