Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is seeking a hydraulic design engineer to generate innovative solutions for fluid/gas transfer systems. The role involves detailed 3-D modeling, drawings, and CAE work using Creo 2, with emphasis on design for assembly and manufacturing.

You will select materials, apply GD&T, support FMEA, coordinate with ERP/SAP workflows, and drive engineering changes while ensuring reliability and cost control across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience designing hydraulic components & systems with Pro/ENGINEER (Creo 2) including 3-D modeling, assembly and drawings.
• Knowledge of die casting, machining and injection molding processes.
• GD&T, FMEA and familiarity with ERP software (SAP).
• Ability to dissect hydraulic systems to predict performance and reliability over time.
• Strong collaboration across cultures and disciplines and effective documentation changes (BOM impact).

• Analytically design, develop and evaluate hydraulic components and systems for transfer and dispense of liquids/gases.
• Create detailed solid models and drawings using Creo 2, considering DfA and DfM.
• Select materials to satisfy design intent while controlling costs.
• Apply GD&T to control hydraulic performance and accuracy; perform change management.
• Prepare prototypes and test plans to prove design feasibility and reliability.
• Coordinate quality controls and measurements; manage BOM changes.

Job description

• Generate solutions to a given requirement by creative thinking
• Analytically design / develop / evaluate hydraulic components like STP, Pumps, Meters and System Design typically to transfer / dispense liquids & gases such as CNG, LNG, and LPG etc.
• Develop detailed solid models and drawings for solutions using Pro/ENGINEER (Creo 2) considering Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing
• Select and specify materials to satisfy design intent while minimizing costs.
• Conduct Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to control hydraulic performance and accuracy
• Communicates design approach and tradeoff analysis
• Prepare & build for Prototype concepts / samples
• Generate, coordinate, & follow test plans to prove out design feasibility and reliability.
• Coordinate Quality Controls and Measurements
• Perform Engg. Change management activities.
