Job summary

Suzlon Group is seeking a seasoned Solar Operations & Engineering leader to oversee regional solar plant operations in Karnataka (Hubli region). You will ensure high plant availability, monitor generation and PR, and drive O&M strategy with strong focus on cost optimization and safety.

You will provide engineering support for inverter, module, transformer, and HT/LT systems, analyze failures, and implement remedial actions.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable / Power Engineering.
• 12-18 years of experience in Solar Plant Operations & Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for regional solar plant operations, ensuring high plant availability and PR as per KPIs.
• Monitor daily generation, PR losses, breakdowns, and corrective / preventive actions.
• Drive O&M strategy, manpower deployment, AMC/vendor management, and cost optimization.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards, statutory compliances, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate with SCADA, monitoring teams, and site teams for performance improvement.
• Provide engineering support for troubleshooting inverter, module, transformer, HT/LT systems, and evacuation-related issues.
• Analyze recurring failures, prepare RCA, and implement corrective actions.
• Support engineering inputs for repowering, life extension, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate technical upgrades, new technologies, and engineering best practices in solar O&M.
• Interface with customers, third-party inspectors, DISCOMs, and internal engineering teams.
• Review SLA adherence and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting for regional solar operations.
• Lead and mentor regional site teams (Site Managers, Engineers, Technicians).
• Build capability through training, performance reviews, and succession planning.

• 1218 years of experience in Solar Plant Operations & Engineering
• Strong hands-on exposure to utility-scale solar projects
• Proven experience in regional or multi-site O&M leadership roles
• Deep understanding of solar plant performance, PR optimization, RCA, and asset management
