Job summary

Harness Renewables India Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Solar PV Design Engineer in India to create system layouts, perform feasibility analysis, and prepare BOMs for execution.

You will use AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope to validate designs and work with procurement for updates. 5+ years of relevant experience and a BE/BTech in electrical/renewable energy are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in solar PV design and simulation.
• Exposure to BESS sizing and design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
• Understanding of BoS components and PV modules.

Job description

• 1Create solar PV system designs including array layout, SLDs, and energy yield reports.
• 2Use software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope to simulate and validate designs.
• 3Prepare accurate BOMs/BOQs and project documentation for execution.
• 4Perform site feasibility analysis using survey data, satellite imagery, and shading analysis.
• 5Coordinate with procurement and project teams for design validation and updates.
• 6Optimize system performance by proposing efficient component placement and sizing.
• 7Design and size BESS (capacity, C-rate, PCS/inverter, AC/DC coupling).
• 8Support techno-commercial evaluation of hybrid solar-plus-storage proposals.

What we need you to bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in solar PV design and simulation, including exposure to BESS sizing and design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Excel, and basic electrical design tools.
• Understanding of PV modules, inverters, and BoS components.
• Ability to analyze site conditions and prepare layout plans accordingly.
• Working knowledge of BESS fundamentals: chemistry, C-rate, DoD, and PCS integration.

Helpful, but not essential

• Experience designing for both on-grid and off-grid systems.
• Familiarity with DISCOM regulations and MNRE technical standards.
• Prior experience in net-metered or hybrid solar systems.
• Prior BESS design experience and familiarity with IEC 62619/62933, NFPA 855, UL 9540.
