Job summary

Aptiv in Bengaluru seeks a leader to own SWDL/OTA product backlog and define roadmaps for software download, bootloader, OTA updates, and diagnostics. You will coordinate with embedded software, cybersecurity, validation, and manufacturing to ensure successful delivery and production readiness.

The role emphasizes stakeholder management, Agile execution, and end-to-end update governance to meet customer expectations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field required.
• 7–12 years in automotive embedded software with product ownership experience.
• Strong knowledge of SWDL/OTA, Bootloader, ECU flashing and diagnostics.
• Experience with AUTOSAR, MCAL, device drivers and CAN tooling.
• Experience with ASPICE, ISO 24089, UNECE R156 and cybersecurity is desirable.
• Experience supporting global OEM programs is a plus.

• Own and prioritize SWDL/OTA backlog, turning requirements into epics and stories.
• Define roadmaps for software download, OTA updates, diagnostics and releases.
• Collaborate with embedded, cybersecurity, diagnostics, validation and other teams.
• Drive release planning, manage risks, and ensure timely, compliant delivery.
• Act as primary stakeholder interface for SWDL/OTA programs.
• Ensure end-to-end update behavior including flashing, deployment, rollback, and diagnostics.

YOUR ROLE

• Own and prioritize the SWDL/OTA product backlog, translating customer, regulatory, and platform requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Define and drive product roadmaps for software download, bootloader, OTA update, diagnostics, release management, and vehicle update capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including embedded software, cybersecurity, diagnostics, platform, validation, functional safety, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure successful product delivery.
• Drive release planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, and scope decisions while ensuring predictable delivery and production readiness.
• Act as the primary stakeholder interface for SWDL/OTA programs, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, quality requirements, and business objectives.
• Ensure end-to-end update behavior including software flashing, OTA deployment, rollback, recovery, diagnostics, and release governance meets customer expectations and compliance requirements.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
• 7-12 years of experience in automotive embedded software with demonstrated Product Owner, Product Management, Technical Program Management, or Systems Ownership experience.
• Strong domain knowledge of Software Download (SWDL), OTA/FOTA updates, Bootloader concepts, ECU flashing, diagnostics, UDS, DoIP, release management, and software lifecycle processes.
• Good understanding of Embedded C, AUTOSAR, MCAL, device drivers, HSM, CAN, Vector Stack, CANoe, DaVinci, Trace32 Lauterbach, Infineon AURIX, and NXP microcontroller platforms.
• Proven experience managing product backlogs, roadmaps, feature prioritization, stakeholder expectations, and cross-functional dependencies in Agile environments.
• Strong communication, customer-facing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business decisions.
• Experience with ASPICE, ISO 24089, UNECE R156, OTA platform solutions, automotive cybersecurity, and release governance is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting global OEM programs such as Ford, Stellantis, or other leading automotive manufacturers is a strong advantage.
