Aptiv in Bengaluru, India seeks a senior leader to own the SWDL/OTA domain strategy and portfolio across products and customer programs. You will guide platform fit, make/buy decisions, and executive commitments while steering critical programs, governance, and cross-domain dependencies.

The role emphasizes implementation, integration, and strategic oversight, with a focus on risk management, lifecycle evolution, and delivering scalable software-update capabilities worldwide.

Qualifications

• Extensive automotive embedded-software leadership and portfolio accountability.
• Strong bootloader, diagnostics, OTA, cybersecurity, functional-safety and lifecycle understanding.
• Business planning, organizational design, customer negotiation and strategic supplier governance.

Responsibilities

• Define domain strategy, reference-platform roadmap and investment priorities.
• Own portfolio capacity, sourcing, succession and leadership pipeline.
• Set technical-authority and release-governance expectations.
• Drive cross-program reuse, productization and reduction of engineering rework.

Your Role

Owns the SWDL/OTA domain strategy and portfolio, creating a scalable, reusable and secure software-update capability across products, platforms and customer programs. RFQ / Concept Set pursuit strategy, platform fit, make/buy decisions and executive commitments. Planning / Architecture Approve portfolio roadmap, governance, capacity and architecture direction. Implementation / Integration Steer critical programs, platforms, reuse and cross-domain dependencies. Verification / Release Make release and customer decisions for systemic update risks. Production / Operations Oversee field performance, corrective action and long-range capability evolution.

Key responsibilities

• Define domain strategy, reference-platform roadmap and investment priorities.

Education

B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.

Required competencies

• Extensive automotive embedded-software leadership and portfolio accountability.
• Strong bootloader, diagnostics, OTA, cybersecurity, functional-safety and lifecycle understanding.
• Business planning, organizational design, customer negotiation and strategic supplier governance.
• Evidence of measurable transformation and delivery improvement.

Preferred competencies

• ISO 24089/UNECE R156 leadership, platform commercialization and global CoE experience.
