Job summary

Aptiv in Bengaluru, India seeks a Senior SWDL/OTA Product Owner to lead the product vision and roadmap for bootloader, update client, diagnostics and platform features. You will own the backlog, define scope, and drive end-to-end release readiness with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in automotive embedded software product ownership, strong agile practices, and deep knowledge of UDS/DoIP, ECU flashing and cryptographic signing.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of total experience in product ownership for automotive embedded software.
• Experience with diagnostics, bootloader or OTA in automotive environments.
• Strong knowledge of UDS/DoIP, ECU flashing and cryptographic signing.
• Experience with release/configuration management and agile delivery.
• Proven ability to manage requirements, backlogs and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Owns the SWDL/OTA product backlog and release outcomes across bootloader, update client, diagnostics and platform capabilities.
• Define product vision, use cases, scope and acceptance boundaries.
• Build roadmap, backlog, milestones, dependencies and release criteria.
• Prioritize execution, clarify stories and make scope decisions.
• Accept end-to-end behavior and ensure release evidence is complete.
• Prioritize field fixes and platform roadmap updates.
• Translate objectives into epics, features and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate dependencies across cybersecurity, functional safety, diagnostics, platform, backend, validation, plant and service.
• Track release predictability, reuse, defect escape and deployment readiness.

Your Role SWDL/OTA Software Product Owner

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Owns the SWDL/OTA product backlog and release outcomes across bootloader, update client, diagnostics and platform capabilities.
• RFQ / Concept - Define product vision, use cases, scope and acceptance boundaries.
• Planning / Architecture - Build roadmap, backlog, milestones, dependencies and release criteria.
• Implementation / Integration - Prioritize execution, clarify stories and make scope decisions.
• Verification / Release - Accept end-to-end behavior and ensure release evidence is complete.
• Production / Operations - Prioritize field fixes, campaign learning and platform roadmap updates.
• Translate customer and platform objectives into epics, features and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize roadmap by customer value, regulatory need, reuse, delivery risk and capacity.
• Coordinate dependencies across cybersecurity, functional safety, diagnostics, platform, backend, validation, plant and service.
• Accept increments using end-to-end evidence including failure and recovery paths.
• Track release predictability, reuse, defect escape and deployment readiness.

Your Background

12+ years of Total Experience. Experience in Technical product ownership in automotive embedded software, diagnostics, bootloader or OTA. Understanding of UDS/DoIP, ECU flashing, cryptographic signing, release/configuration management and Agile delivery. Strong requirements, backlog, dependency and stakeholder-management skills. undefined undefined S32K/S32G/V850 or similar platforms, HSM integration, Python automation, delta update and ISO 24089 exposure.
