Job Description Summary

As a Software Engineer (Test), you will be responsible for automation and manual testing to deliver a high quality product, platform, or subsystem and ensuring it is released as per GE Healthcare Quality Management Systems. You will define, develop, and evolve software for testing in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test cases across unit, integration, API, and end‑to‑end levels to ensure reliable and scalable quality validation.
• Define and execute comprehensive test plans, including clearly articulated testing phases, strategies, and coverage goals.
• Build, enhance, and support scalable test automation frameworks, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines used across multiple teams.
• Apply testing best practices and principles to improve test effectiveness, efficiency, maintainability, and defect detection.
• Implement appropriate automation techniques such as data‑driven testing, pairwise testing, mocking, and test hooks based on the problem space and system architecture.
• Design and develop software with testability in mind, enabling high‑quality deliverables at the lowest overall cost of ownership.
• Maintain high code quality through engineering best practices, thorough unit testing, and automated code quality and coverage tools.
• Make informed technology and tooling decisions through due diligence, experimentation, and impact analysis.
• Demonstrate expertise in writing clean, maintainable, and standards‑compliant code that delivers the intended functionality using the selected technology stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM major with advanced experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software development in a technical and analytical role.
• Experience writing Java code for testing solution code (e.g., white‑box testing).
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and Java coding principles.
• Expertise in automation tools, frameworks, and techniques (BDD, JBehave, Cucumber, Selenium, JMeter).
• Experience with issue‑tracking and agile project management systems.
• Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Experience with virtual machines as part of test/integration infrastructure.
• Knowledge of healthcare domain and standards such as HL7 or FHIR is a plus.
