The role leads strategy execution, manages a team focused on IoMT Device Connectivity platforms, and ensures end‑to‑end software quality from design through release.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Software Engineering professionals.
- Provide day‑to‑day work direction for team members engaged in projects and delivery.
- Facilitate and coach software engineering teams on requirements estimation and work sizing.
- Demonstrate mastery of intricacies and interactions within dynamic agile processes.
- Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices (e.g., code generation, automated testing, and productivity tools) to improve team efficiency and delivery velocity.
- Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications & services.
- Own component and product integration for maximum performance and scalability.
- Manage product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow‑down.
- Drive verification and validation activities for the software subsystem and overall product/system, including system‑level testing.
- Incorporate AI‑driven testing frameworks, anomaly detection, and intelligent monitoring to enhance product quality and system reliability.
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources, operating mechanisms, and budget for execution.
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
- Stay informed of industry trends that may influence work.
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation.
- Drive CTQ/Risk trade‑offs while designing software components.
- Manage the overall development environment, product configuration, and release process.
- Integrate AI into DevOps pipelines (AIOps) for intelligent incident management, release optimization, and performance tuning.
- Actively present leadership updates to GE executive sponsors, Product Management, and internal customers.
- Work with technology leadership in defining technology roadmap and architecture for products and services.
- Advocate and communicate AI‑driven transformation initiatives, articulating business impact, ROI, and adoption roadmap.
- Drive a continuous learning culture to guide ongoing improvements.
- Provide leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices.
- Foster AI literacy across teams through training, experimentation, and adoption of AI tools for engineering, operations, and decision‑making.
- Actively pursue new methods and practices to increase productivity.

Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Desired Skills:
- Significant experience in Software Engineering/Technology & Design Engineering Management.
- 15+ years of software engineering or systems engineering experience.
- 6–8 years in technical leadership, engineering management, or people management.
- Experience in regulated industries is strongly preferred; MedTech, healthcare technology, or life sciences experience is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with sustaining engineering, installed base ownership, field issue resolution, or post‑market product lifecycle management is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
Technical Expertise:
- Recognizes patterns and complexity in problems.
- Thorough knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle principles and working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and best practices.
- Understanding of full‑stack platform concepts and technologies.
- Linux or Yocto understanding (SystemD, filesystem, serial/Ethernet interfaces, system utilities, etc.).
- Webmin / Perl based development experience; firmware development or integration experience (UART, SPI interface knowledge).
- Web development experience: REST, HTTP/S, SSL certificate management.
- Shell scripting; Python scripting (desired).
- Cybersecurity fundamentals, platform diagnostics, network programming, understanding of protocols TCP/IP & UDP.
- AI expertise: HL7, IHE, EMR workflows, clinical data pipelines.
- Spectro Cloud, Cloudfuse, AWS CloudWatch, XML/JSON payloads, telemetry, dashboards, alerting.
- System reliability testing, PSR runs, stress testing, throughput validation, failure‑mode analysis.
