Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Java developer to design, implement and deliver features for the Direct+ API suite. You will build RESTful services with Spring Boot, participate in design discussions, and ensure code quality through unit and integration tests.

Join a team collaborating with Product, QA and SRE to ship reliable customer-facing capabilities. Emphasis on secure coding, cloud-native delivery and thoughtful remediation of technical debt using AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience developing commercial software applications or services.
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSON, JUnit/Mockito and Maven or similar build tooling.
Good understanding of object-oriented design, microservices and API development principles.
Understanding of cloud computing concepts and interest in cloud-native delivery practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and agile delivery practices.
Ability to investigate software issues and work with others to resolve defects across application and service layers.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make practical engineering decisions with guidance where needed.
Clear communicator who can explain technical issues, risks and options to engineering peers and stakeholders.
Awareness of secure coding practices, data protection and operational resilience.
Interest in using AI-assisted engineering tools to support software development, testing, troubleshooting and documentation.

Responsibilities

Contribute to design, development and delivery of features and platform capabilities for the Direct+ API suite.
