Job summary

MacroHire is seeking a Software Engineer - Networking Datapath to design and implement next-generation access, aggregation, metro, and mobile backhaul solutions using JunOS/Junos EVO.

The role requires 4–10 years of software development experience, strong C/C++ and Unix/Linux skills, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams, addressing complex networking challenges and supporting end-to-end product lifecycle. Exposure to networking protocols and QoS/CoS is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS/CE or equivalent.
• 4–10 years of software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux systems (user-space processes, kernel, socket programming, IPC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in teams.
• Knowledge of Internet Protocols and Networking (Nice-to-have).
• Exposure to Service Provider Technologies and Networking Protocols (L2/L3, QoS/CoS, ACLs, Firewalls).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management, system test, and solution test teams to ensure delivery of high-quality products and solutions.
• Provide engineering assistance to Juniper’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for resolving critical customer escalations in live deployments.
• Contribute to the end-to-end product lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and support.

What you need to bring

• Experience with XGS/DNX families (Jericho, Jericho2) is a plus.
