Job summary

Luxoft in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement high-performance platform software for networking products. You will work closely with the hardware team on features, fixes, and Yocto-based builds to ensure performance, security and interop.

Lead the platform team, create design docs, and coordinate with product marketing, QA, docs, customer support, and program management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/ECE/IT.
• 8+ years of networking/embedded experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals and device drivers.
• Expertise in Linux networking and router IP stack.
• Experience with Broadcom XGS/DNX ASICs.
• Proficient in C/C++ with strong debugging skills.
• Familiar with secure coding practices and AV/ASLR considerations.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop embedded platform software for high-end networking solutions.
• Collaborate with HW team for platform features and fixes; participate in design reviews.
• Lead the platform team and coordinate cross-functionally across org lines.
• Write specifications and drive sign-off; interface with developers, QA, docs, support, and management.

Perform embedded system software design and implementation for leading high-performance data networking products as a member of a highly capable and dynamic engineering team.

Responsibilities

• . Architect/Design and Develop embedded platform software for high end networking solutions. Work closely with HW Development team for platform features & fixes. Participate in HW Design reviews, articulate system software requirements. Experience in Linux Kernel upgrades & Yocto packages. Demonstrate cross functional collaboration with Product Marketing, SQA and other development teams to ensure embedded platform software meets all performance, scalability, interop and security requirements
• Lead the platform team, interact cross functionally on matters that require coordination across organization lines.
• Write functional and design specification documents and drive sign-off. Interface with developers, QA, documentation & customer support & program management teams.
• Participate in full product life cycle development.

SKILLS

Must have

• Minimum of B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS/EE/ECE/IT
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Networking/Telecom- Embedded/Network Management
• Excellent understanding of Linux Internals, Device Driver development, BIOS/BMC Operations
• Expertise in Linux networking IP stack along with port management expertise in a router
• Excellent knowledge of switching ASICs (Broadcom XGS/DNX) to address platform requirements
• Expert programming skills in C/C++
• Ability to thrive in fast paced agile development environment
• Familiarity with Secure coding practices is a big plus
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Must have strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of virtualization technologies (Virtual Machines, Containers) is a plus
