Job description

Role & responsibilities

Juniper Routing & Switching

  • 8-10 years of overall network engineering or network operations experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on Juniper routing and switching experience.
  • Provide L3 operational support for enterprise LAN, WAN, campus, branch, and data center environments built on Juniper technologies.
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Juniper EX, QFX, MX, and SRX platforms.
  • Diagnose complex routing and switching issues affecting critical business services and lead service restoration activities.
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VRRP, EVPN-VXLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, multicast, VLANs, link aggregation, and QoS.
  • Perform network upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes, code upgrades, and high-availability validation.
  • Analyze packet captures, logs, routing tables, protocol adjacencies, interface statistics, and traffic flows to isolate faults.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring or high-impact issues.
  • Review configurations for standards compliance, resilience, performance, and security hardening.
Operations, Governance & Technical Leadership
  • Own or support P1/P2 major incidents, participate in technical bridge calls, and provide clear stakeholder updates.
  • Execute incident, service request, change, problem, and configuration management activities in line with ITIL practices.
  • Prepare implementation plans, method of procedure documents, rollback plans, risk assessments, and post-change validation reports.
  • Engage Juniper TAC and other OEM vendors for complex defects, software bugs, and hardware issues.
  • Monitor capacity, availability, performance, and recurring trends; recommend optimization and continuous improvement actions.
  • Mentor L1/L2 engineers, conduct technical reviews, and contribute to knowledge articles, SOPs, runbooks, and network diagrams.
  • Participate in solution reviews, transition activities, project implementations, audits, and operational readiness assessments.
Peferred candidate profile
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, enterprise LAN/WAN design principles, routing protocols, switching technologies, high availability, and network resiliency.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale, business-critical, multi-site or global enterprise networks.
  • Strong command-line troubleshooting skills in Junos OS and the ability to interpret logs, telemetry, packet captures, and protocol outputs.
  • Experience handling major incidents, complex changes, problem management, vendor escalations, and technical documentation.
