Job summary

Mitratech is seeking a seasoned Software QA Engineer in Bengaluru to join a global team. You will contribute to automated and manual testing across web applications, leverage Playwright and TypeScript, and apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation.

Strong SQL data verification and API testing proficiency are essential. You will work within an Agile/Scrum environment, own test artifacts, mentor teammates, and drive quality through collaboration with product and development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance (manual and automated testing).
• Expertise with automation tools and languages: Playwright, Typescript preferred.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test creation and analysis.
• SQL knowledge for data verification.
• Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD; ADO pipeline knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility) is advantageous.
• Strong ownership and proactive communication with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum; test case management tools (e.g., TestRail).

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance - both manual and automated testing.
• Expertise with automation tools and languages: Playwright, Typescript preferred

• Command of SQL and ability to apply that knowledge for data verification.

Communication & Process

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic vision to diverse internal stakeholders.
• Proactive in identifying and communicating potential roadblocks, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership and relevant parties.
• Deep familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and proficiency with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• You will utilize latest versions of our technology stack and be encouraged to think creatively in order to produce effective testing solutions.
• You will produce quality, reusable and maintainable automated test code that reduces the need for manual test efforts throughout our development cycles.
• You will perform manual and exploratory testing against functionality developed by members of your Agile team.
• You will work closely with the product manager and scrum team to help deliver high quality features inside of agreed timeframes.
• You will provide technical mentorship and upskilling to scrum team members and across functional boundaries where appropriate.
• You will consistently challenge Acceptance Criteria and Test Coverage.
• You will contribute to a culture of high quality, personal ownership and customer-focused execution.
