Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Senior QA Architect to define and drive the global test automation strategy across desktop, devices, embedded systems, APIs and web apps. You will architect scalable frameworks and mentor engineers to elevate the QA capability of the team.

Expert-level C#/.NET or Python, and hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or Appium are required. Hybrid work model and strong collaboration with product and DevOps are expected.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software quality engineering with at least 5+ years in architecture or lead capacity.
• Strong coding mastery in C#/.NET or Python.
• Hands-on mastery of 2+ modern testing frameworks and API testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Define, evolve and execute global test automation strategy across desktop, devices, embedded systems, APIs and web apps.
• Architect, build and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Evaluate tools and infrastructure to optimize the testing lifecycle.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for true continuous testing.
• Lead non-functional testing initiatives: performance, load, security, reliability.
• Mentor QA engineers and align QA goals with business objectives.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, DevOps, and Development Leads to close testing gaps.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

• Strategy & Vision: Define, evolve, and execute the global test automation strategy across desktop, devices and embedded systems, API platforms and web applications.
• Framework Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain scalable, reusable, and modular test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Tool Evaluation: Research, prototype, and select cutting-edge testing tools, libraries, and infrastructure to optimize the testing lifecycle.
• CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly embed automated test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to achieve true continuous testing.
• Non-Functional Testing: Establish blueprints and strategies for performance, load, security, and reliability (chaos) testing.
• Technical Leadership: Set coding standards, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and mentor QA engineers to elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, and Development Leads to identify testing gaps and align QA goals with business objectives.

What You Need to Succeed

• Education: BE / B.Tech / M.E / M. Tech
• Experience: Minimum of 12+ years in software quality engineering, with at least 5+ years specifically in architectural or lead capacity.
• Coding Mastery: Expert-level proficiency C#/.NET technologies or Python.
• Automation Ecosystems: Hands-on mastery of any 2 modern testing frameworks [like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium] and API testing utilities [like Postman].
• DevOps Infrastructure: Deep experience with CI/CD tools [e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps] and cloud-based testing grids [e.g., Sauce Labs, BrowserStack].
• Containerization & Cloud: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing environments.
• Architecture Mindset: Strong understanding of microservices architecture, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and design patterns.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of influencing senior leadership and guiding cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing AI/ML-driven testing tools or self-healing test automation.
• Relevant certifications [e.g., ISTQB Advanced/Expert Level, AWS Certified Solutions Architect].
