Job summary

MAN TRUCK & BUS INDIA PVT. LTD. is seeking a Toolchain and Development Environment Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimize Linux-based development environments and toolchains for onboard ATS software.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of hands-on experience in software development and toolchain management.
• MTech/BE in Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Bazel Build system development environments.
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments, Ansible, Python.
• Agile and DevOps mindset with emphasis on collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Experience creating Dockerfiles to support configuration management and containerization.
• Background in software development and product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage Linux-based development environments, build systems, and toolchains for C++ ATS onboard software.
• Implement and optimize build automation using Bazel, Python, and Ansible; manage third-party library integration.
• Ensure reliable compilation and deployment processes; support developer productivity with Docker-based environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams following Agile and DevOps practices to troubleshoot build issues and improve workflows.
• Ensure software quality and efficiency across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate to improve toolchain management and cloud computing platform usage.
• Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and navigate obstacles effectively.

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing Linux-based development environments, build systems, and toolchains for C++ ATS onboard software. Support developer productivity through Docker-based environments, Git/GitLab version control, and CI/CD pipeline configuration. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams following Agile and DevOps practices to troubleshoot build issues, improve development workflows, and ensure software quality and efficiency.

To ensure that you will-

• Key role in enabling efficient and reliable software development
• Provide and maintain development environments for onboard ATS software
• Design, develop, and manage build systems and toolchains to support C++ ATS onboard software
• Enable engineering productivity by implementing user-friendly tooling and developer workflows
• Manage and integrate third-party libraries used in onboard ATS systems
• Ensure reliable compilation, build, and deployment processes in a Linux-based environment
• Collaborate across engineering teams to improve developer efficiency and software quality
• Experience: 6 to 9 years
• Qualification:M Tech/ BE- Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication
• Strong hands-on expertise with Bazel Build system development environments.
• Proficiency in Linux-based environment, Ansible, Python
• A strong Agile and DevOps mindset, with a focus on collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of creating Docker files to support configuration management and containerization.
• Practical experience with Git and GitLab, including branching strategies and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
• A results-oriented approach with the ability to proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and navigate obstacles effectively.
• Familiarity with toolchain management, software compilation, build environment & cloud computing platforms.
• Background in software development and product development
