Job summary

GE HealthCare Bengaluru is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the Installed Base team, maintaining and enhancing existing products for a global customer base. You will troubleshoot production issues, implement fixes, and ensure software stability and performance in production environments.

You will collaborate with Service, Product Development, and Tech leads to address customer-reported issues, develop patches and hotfixes, and document fixes and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of software development and support experience.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and resolve production issues by performing code-level debugging and root cause analysis.


• Collaborate with Service, Product development and Tech leads to address customer-reported issues.


• Develop patches, hotfixes, and minor enhancements for deployed software.


• Write clear and concise documentation for fixes, processes, and troubleshooting steps.


• Participate in global calls and provide timely support for critical incidents.


• Work closely with support teams interacting with customers to continuously assess the performance of Portrait Mobile solutions product and track outcomes through established metrics.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


• 3+ years of experience in software development and support roles.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Java, including multithreading, memory management, and performance tuning.


• Proven experience in code-level debugging using tools like Eclipse, IntelliJ, JDB, or remote debuggers.


• Familiarity with log analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Splunk, ELK stack).


• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools and CI/CD pipelines.


• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
