Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Software Engineer (Test) to drive automation and manual testing for high-quality products. You will design and maintain automated test cases across unit, API, and end-to-end levels, while building scalable frameworks and CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will apply testing best practices, leverage data-driven and BDD techniques, and work with Linux/Windows environments and VM-based test infra. HL7/FHIR knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors with advanced experience.
  • 2 years of Software development experience in a technical and analytical role.
  • Experience writing Java code for testing solution code (white-box testing).
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, design patterns and Java.
  • Expert in automation tools/techniques: BDD, Jbehave, Cucumber, Selenium, JMeter.
  • Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Experience with virtual machines (VMs) for test/integration infra.
  • Healthcare domain knowledge HL7, FHIR is a plus.

  • Implement automation techniques such as data-driven, pairwise, mocking, and test hooks.
  • Design software with testability in mind for high-quality deliverables at low cost.
  • Maintain high code quality through unit testing and code quality tools.
  • Make informed technology and tooling decisions through due diligence and experimentation.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and standards-compliant code using the technology stack.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:



  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test cases across unit, integration, API, and end-to-end levels to ensure reliable and scalable quality validation.


  • Define and execute comprehensive test plans, including clearly articulated testing phases, strategies, and coverage goals.


  • Build, enhance, and support scalable test automation frameworks, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines used across multiple teams.


  • Apply testing best practices and principles to improve test effectiveness, efficiency, maintainability, and defect detection.


  • Implement appropriate automation techniques - such as data-driven testing, pairwise testing, mocking, and test hooks - based on the problem space and system architecture.


  • Design and develop software with testability in mind, enabling high-quality deliverables at the lowest overall cost of ownership.


  • Maintain high code quality through engineering best practices, thorough unit testing, and automated code quality and coverage tools.


  • Make informed technology and tooling decisions through due diligence, experimentation, and impact analysis.


  • Demonstrate expertise in writing clean, maintainable, and standards-compliant code that delivers the intended functionality using the selected technology stack.



Qualifications/Essential Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.


  • 2 years of experience of Software development in a technical and analytical role.


  • Demonstrates experience and ability to write Java code for the purposes of testing solution code (e.g., white-box testing).


  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles


  • Expert in automation Tool/framework/techniques (Behavioral Driven Development, Jbehave, Cucumber, selenium, Jmeter)


  • Has experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems


  • Has experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.


  • Has experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure


  • Knowledge of Healthcare domain & standards (HL7 , FHIR) is a big plus
