Job summary

Aptiv in Bengaluru seeks a senior automotive cybersecurity leader accountable for portfolio execution, governance, and technical authority. You will drive strategy, staffing and platform decisions to ensure secure mobility solutions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, align with ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE standards, and collaborate with customers and executives to deliver measurable outcomes and sustained leadership in cyber defense.

Qualifications

• 15+ years automotive cybersecurity leadership and portfolio accountability.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155/R156.
• Proven governance, budgeting, risk leadership and customer negotiation abilities.

• Define cybersecurity engineering strategy, operating model and investment priorities.
• Own portfolio-level capacity, insourcing, succession and leadership development.
• Chair critical technical, release and escalation reviews and ensure governance.

Job description

Help shape the future of mobility. Your Role Sets organizational direction for automotive cybersecurity engineering and is accountable for portfolio execution, technical authority, customer confidence, capability, governance and sustainable internal ownership. RFQ / Concept Set pursuit strategy, risk appetite, make/buy approach and executive commitments. Planning / Architecture Approve governance, technical-authority model, staffing and platform strategy. Implementation / Integration Steer portfolio delivery, cross-program reuse and critical escalations. Verification / Release Approve organizational release posture for high-risk items and assurance gaps. Production / Operations Oversee field-security posture, systemic corrective actions and strategic capability refresh.

Key responsibilities

Define cybersecurity engineering strategy, operating model and investment priorities. Own portfolio-level capacity, insourcing, succession and leadership development. Ensure consistent application of cybersecurity management, architecture, software and assurance practices. Chair critical technical, release and escalation reviews. Represent the organization with customers and senior leadership; drive measurable business and engineering outcomes.

EDUCATION

B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline

EXPERIENCE

15+ years Your Background Required competencies Extensive automotive engineering leadership with cybersecurity portfolio accountability. Deep understanding of ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, software delivery and product lifecycle governance. Demonstrated organization design, financial planning, customer negotiation and risk leadership. Ability to translate strategy into measurable execution.

Preferred competencies

External assessment experience, platform productization, incident leadership and global CoE development.
