Athena Consultancy Services is seeking a Software Asset Management (SAM) specialist to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets in our India operations. You will manage procurement, deployment, maintenance, renewal, and retirement while ensuring accurate inventories and licensing compliance.

Key tasks include audits, reconciliation, reporting, and collaboration with IT, procurement, finance, legal, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Knowledge of software licensing models: subscription, perpetual, user-based, and device-based licensing.
• Experience with license compliance, entitlement management, software audits, and license reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, or Snow.
• Understanding of software publishers such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, and VMware.
• Experience in software discovery, inventory management, and asset lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical, reporting, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

• Work with IT, procurement, finance, legal, and security teams to ensure compliance.
• Manage software asset management tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow License Manager, or equivalent.
• Handle complex L3 issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for software compliance, utilization, audit readiness, and cost optimization.
• Develop and improve SAM processes, policies, and governance frameworks.

• Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB, and procurement processes.
