Job summary

AkzoNobel in India seeks an experienced Asset & License Management Analyst to manage software license, IT asset and configuration management in a global setting.

Responsibilities include ensuring license compliance, lifecycle asset management, audits, optimization opportunities, and providing insights to stakeholders across IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, HR and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management or License Management.
• Experience in a complex international/global environment.
• IT/Software License Audit experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience in license optimization and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Software License and IT Asset Management processes.
• Monitor licenses and ensure vendor/compliance adherence.
• Track assets lifecycle across functions and geographies.
• Work with ServiceNow / ITSM to enhance License & Asset processes.
• Prepare global license position reports on utilization, compliance, risks and financial impact.
• Identify opportunities for license optimization and cost reduction.
• Support IT projects in licensing and asset requirements.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Vendor Management for licensing needs.
• Plan and manage periodic software license/vendor audits.
• Support audit strategy, compliance actions and remediation of findings.
• Build relationships with IT, Finance, Procurement, HR and Legal stakeholders.
• Support global license and vendor management activities.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Asset & License Management Analyst to manage and optimize Software License, IT Asset and Configuration Management processes in a global environment.

The role will be responsible for ensuring software license compliance, managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle, supporting software/vendor audits, identifying license optimization and cost-saving opportunities, and providing license-related insights to key stakeholders.

The role will work closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, HR, Contract & Vendor Management teams and external software vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Track IT/software assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Work with ServiceNow / ITSM platforms and enhance License & Asset Management processes.
• Prepare global license position reports covering utilization, compliance, risks, optimization opportunities and financial impact.
• Identify opportunities for license optimization and cost reduction.
• Support IT projects in identifying software license and asset requirements.
• Coordinate with Procurement/Sourcing and Contract & Vendor Management teams for licensing requirements.
• Plan and manage periodic software license/vendor audits.
• Support audit strategy, compliance activities and resolution of audit findings.
• Build strong relationships with IT, Finance, Procurement, HR and Legal stakeholders.
• Support global software license and vendor management activities.

Role Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Management or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, License Management or a similar role.
• Experience working in a complex international/global environment.
• Strong experience in software license and IT asset management.
• IT/Software License Audit experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience in license optimization and cost reduction.
