Job description

Role Purpose

Establish and govern Software Asset Management (SAM) framework to ensure optimal license utilization, compliance, cost efficiency, and audit readiness across IT/Digital ecosystem.

Area Responsibilities

• Software License Governance & Optimization: Ensure optimal license utilization and identify cost optimization opportunities
• License Compliance & Audit Management: Ensure compliance with licensing agreements (Microsoft, Adobe, MuleSoft, etc.)

Lead internal/external software audits and vendor true-ups

• Demand & Procurement Governance: Validate license demand against actual usage and business justification

Collaborate with procurement for optimized purchasing decisions (right‑sizing, bundling, renewal strategy)

• Tool & Data Management: Ensure accurate license inventory and entitlement repository

Govern integration of SAM tools with CMDB, procurement, and usage systems

• Risk & Controls Management: Identify risks related to over‑licensing, under‑licensing, and non‑compliance

Define controls aligned to ISO 27001, ITGC, and audit frameworks

• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with IT, finance, procurement, and business teams
• Engage with OEMs/vendors for licensing clarity and optimization
• Reporting & Governance: Provide insights to leadership on license optimization and investment decisions

Ensure audit‑ready documentation and governance reviews

Certification Relevance

• CISA Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) / ITAM certification ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/ Auditor End‑to‑end ownership of Software License Governance across divisions
• Drive measurable cost optimization (license reduction, right‑sizing) and audit readiness

Ownership: End‑to‑end ownership of Software License Governance across divisions.

Contribution: Drive measurable cost optimization (license reduction, right‑sizing) and audit readiness.

Accountability: Ensure 100% compliance, zero audit penalties, and accurate license inventory.
