Job summary

Deloitte Shared Services India is seeking professionals with experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), Software Licensing, license compliance, or IT Asset Management to help clients manage and optimize their software assets.

The role covers end-to-end software asset lifecycle, license compliance audits, cost optimization, SAM tool support (Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow), and guidance on licensing strategies across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in SAM, Software Licensing, License Compliance, or ITAM.
• Experience in a consulting environment or large enterprise is preferred.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on exposure to SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow Software, or ServiceNow.
• Exposure to cloud licensing models across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

We are looking for professionals with experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), Software Licensing, License Compliance, or IT Asset Management to support clients in managing and optimizing their software assets.

The role involves managing the end-to-end software asset lifecycle, conducting license compliance assessments, identifying cost optimization opportunities, supporting SAM tool implementation, and providing advisory support on software licensing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end software asset lifecycle, from procurement and deployment to usage, optimization, renewal, and retirement.
• Conduct software license compliance audits and assess compliance with vendor licensing terms and conditions.
• Analyze software usage, deployment, and license data to identify optimization and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Support clients in optimizing software licensing models and improving software ROI.
• Assist with implementation, configuration, and administration of SAM tools, including:
• Flexera
• Snow Software
• ServiceNow
• Track software inventory, entitlements, installations, usage, and license compliance.
• Prepare reports and dashboards covering software usage, compliance status, license position, and optimization opportunities.
• Analyze SAM data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Support cloud software licensing and licensing optimization across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand software licensing requirements and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Support software licensing strategy, cloud migration, and SAM transformation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to software contracts, licenses, entitlements, and compliance.
• Identify potential licensing risks and support remediation activities.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on SAM best practices, software licensing, compliance, and optimization.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in:
• Software Asset Management (SAM)
• Software Licensing
• License Compliance
• IT Asset Management (ITAM)
• Experience in a consulting environment or large enterprise is preferred.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, license entitlements, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with software license audits and compliance assessments.
• Experience analyzing software usage and identifying license optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
• Hands‑on exposure to SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow Software, or ServiceNow.
• Good understanding of software asset lifecycle management.
• Exposure to cloud licensing models across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and client management skills.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage client requirements effectively.

Good to Have

• Experience with Flexera / Snow / ServiceNow SAM.
• Knowledge of Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Adobe, VMware, or other major software licensing models.
• Experience with cloud software licensing and optimization.
• Knowledge of IT Asset Management processes.
• Understanding of software procurement, contracts, renewals, and vendor management.
• Experience with SAM reporting, analytics, and dashboards.
