Job summary

Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd. in India is seeking a Site Production Engineer with hands-on experience in fabricating pressure vessels, heat exchangers and heavy equipment. The role focuses on managing site production, fabrication, assembly and execution activities to meet schedule and quality.

You will coordinate with Production, Quality, Welding and NDT teams, read fabrication drawings, monitor safety, and maintain daily progress reports. Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in site production and fabrication of pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, GA drawings and welding details.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Welding, NDT, Planning, Engineering and Project teams.
• Ensure work is executed per approved drawings, specs and schedules.
• Maintain safety procedures and site permit compliance.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Production Engineer with hands‑on experience in the manufacturing/fabrication of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers and other heavy engineering equipment.

The candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating site production, fabrication, assembly and execution activities, ensuring timely completion of work while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor site production and fabrication activities for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and heavy engineering equipment.
• Supervise fabrication, fit‑up, welding, assembly and related site activities.
• Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, procedures and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Welding, NDT, Planning, Engineering and Project teams for smooth execution.
• Monitor manpower, material availability, tools, equipment and other resources required for site activities.
• Read and understand fabrication drawings, GA drawings, welding details and engineering specifications.
• Monitor welding and fabrication activities and ensure adherence to approved WPS/PQR and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and inspection teams for stage‑wise inspection, NDT and clearance of inspection points.
• Track daily progress against planned targets and highlight delays / constraints.
• Resolve day‑to‑day fabrication and production issues at site in coordination with concerned departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, work permits and site safety requirements.
• Maintain daily progress reports, manpower reports and other site production documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors / vendors and monitor their work, wherever applicable.
• Support timely completion of erection, assembly, testing and project deliverables.

• Good knowledge of fabrication, welding, fit‑up and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Experience in coordinating multiple teams and managing production activities at site.
• Exposure to QA/QC, NDT and inspection processes will be an advantage.
• Strong execution, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
