Job summary

P G Constructions in Palakkad, Kerala, invites applications for a Site Engineer role focusing on bridge and infrastructure projects. You will supervise day-to-day construction activities, prepare schedules in MS Project, estimate quantities, verify BBS and reinforcement, and ensure quality and safety on site.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree or diploma and 3–5 years of field experience, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of relevant civil/infrastructure/bridge construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day construction activities at bridge and infrastructure project sites.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules and work plans using MS Project.
• Carry out quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, and quantity verification.
• Prepare and verify Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and reinforcement requirements.
• Monitor quality control of construction activities per drawings and standards.
• Supervise RCC works, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, foundations, piers, abutments, slabs, and other structural works.
• Prepare, check, and verify contractor/subcontractor measurements and bills.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, consultants, QA/QC, and project management.
• Monitor material consumption, manpower, machinery, and productivity.
• Track project progress against schedule and identify delays or deviations.
• Maintain daily progress reports, measurements, inspection records, and project documentation.
• Ensure work is executed safely and in compliance with specifications and safety procedures.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong practical knowledge of quantity estimation, quality control, and site supervision.
• Experience in contractor/subcontractor billing and measurement.
• Good knowledge of Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation and reinforcement quantity calculations.
• Proficiency in MS Project for project scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Ability to read and interpret structural/civil drawings, BOQ, and specifications.
• Good knowledge of RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, and general construction practices.
• Good communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates with experience in government infrastructure projects, bridges, PWD, Irrigation, or similar projects will be preferred
