Job summary

Cyient is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 2–10 years of experience in stress analysis to join our Hyderabad team. The role requires expertise in structural and thermal analyses using ANSYS Classic and Workbench, and 2D/3D modelling with DesignModeler or SpaceClaim.

The candidate should be proficient in ANSYS APDL macro development, have exposure to ASME B&PV code sections for design by analysis, and be able to verify results with hand calculations. Nuclear plant experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in stress analysis for mechanical components and structures.
• Proficient with ANSYS Classic and Workbench for static, nonlinear, transient, and seismic analyses.
• Experience generating 2D/3D FE models using DesignModeler or SpaceClaim.
• Proficient in APDL scripting to develop or customize macros.
• Familiar with ASME B&PV code for mechanical qualification and analysis.
• Ability to verify results with hand calculations and validate designs.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress and thermal analyses for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Develop and modify FE models, run simulations, and interpret results.
• Prepare technical reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with design teams to propose alternative solutions when needed.
• Ensure analyses comply with ASME requirements and project standards.
• Utilize ANSYS ACT for automation and efficiency where appropriate.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Mechanical engineer with 2-10 years of experience in the field of stress analysis.
• Expertise in structuralanalysis (static, non-linear, transient, and seismic) and thermal analysis (steady-state and transient) using ANSYS Classicand WB.
• Good exposure to Ansys Design-modeler or Space-claim to generate the 2D/3D model for the FE analysis.
• Expertise in ANSYS APDL to develop or modify the macros. Knowledge of Ansys ACT will be added advantage.
• Ability to independently determine analysis procedures and provide alternative solutions.
• Ability to verify analysis results with simplified hand calculations and/or the qualification of mechanical components using hand calculations.
• ExposuretoASME B&PV code Section III or Section VIII for mechanical component qualification.
• Exposure to ASME design by analysis principles.
• Very good technicalreport writing skills using Microsoft Word.
• Quick learner as most of the projects will be first of a kind.
• Able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of MathCad will be an added advantage.
• Experience in the field of nuclear power plants and with PWR, BWR, CANDU plants, nuclear valves will bean added advantage.
