Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking an entry-level automation engineer in Bengaluru to develop and maintain scripts for VLSI design workflows. You will collaborate with CAD teams to integrate EDA tools and improve tool reliability across the CI2 design flow.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of experience, strong Python/C++ skills, and a solid foundation in VLSI concepts, Linux/Unix environments, and version control. EDA familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of industry experience in semiconductor CAD/automation or internship experience.
• Experience with Python or C++ for development.
• Experience with version control systems, Linux/Unix, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of standard VLSI design concepts and flows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts and software tools using Python and C++ to enhance VLSI design and CAD environment efficiency.
• Assist executive CAD engineers in integrating and supporting commercial EDA tools within the CI2 design flow.
• Collaborate with design and verification teams to debug and resolve tool and flow issues, contributing to productivity improvements.
• Contribute to documentation, standardization, and version control (e.g., Git) practices for CAD tools and methodologies.
