Job summary

Google in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India is seeking a Mid-level Silicon Backend CAD Engineer to drive CAD flows, contribute to physical design, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on silicon infrastructure.

You'll ship automation tools for backend CAD, work with advanced packaging and 3DIC, and mentor junior engineers while expanding expertise in EDA methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience with CAD tools and flows and EDA tools and methodologies.
• Experience with physical design flow such as floor planning, place and route, or physical verification.
• Experience with Python or C++.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug failures across boards, software, manufacturing, design, thermal issues, etc.
• Maintain and support automation scripts for backend CAD flows to ensure efficiency.
• Contribute to software development for internal CAD tools and automation infrastructure.
• Assist in evaluating new EDA tools, specifically for 3DIC flow development efforts.
• Contribute to software development for internal CAD tools and automation infrastructure.

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and flows and electronic design automation (EDA) tools and methodologies.
• Experience with physical design flow such as floor planning, place and route, or physical verification.
• Experience with Python or C++.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in advanced technology nodes.
• Experience with 3DIC technology or advanced packaging methodologies.
• Familiarity with flow development involving Integrity 3DIC or Synopsys 3DIC compilers.
