Job summary

Google Bengaluru is seeking a hardware CAD/automation engineer to advance VLSI design tooling and automation scripts. You will support EDA tool integration within the CI2 flow and collaborate with design teams to improve productivity and tooling standardization.

The role emphasizes Python/C++ development, version control practices, and hands-on scripting in a fast-paced hardware environment at Google’s hardware infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of industry experience in semiconductor CAD/automation or internship experience.
• Experience with coding and software development in Python or C++.
• Experience with version control systems, Linux/Unix operating systems, and shell scripting.
• Experience with standard VLSI design concepts and flows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts and software tools using Python and C++ to enhance VLSI design and CAD environment efficiency.
• Assist executive CAD engineers in integrating and supporting commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools within the CI2 design flow.
• Collaborate with design and verification teams to debug and resolve tool and flow issues, contributing to productivity improvements.
• Contribute to documentation, standardization, and version control (e.g., Git) practices for CAD tools and methodologies.
