Job summary

Eternal Jewelry, a US-based jewelry brand, seeks an SEO owner to boost organic revenue for its Shopify store and corporate event pages. You will own Google Search strategies, optimize product and collection pages, and drive commercial queries with technical and content SEO.

Responsibilities include schema markup, site speed, Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and building authority through backlinks, PR, and directory listings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Google SEO with at least one US ecommerce or local services client.
• 2+ years SEO on Shopify stores, including product/collection page optimization.
• Proven results ranking ecommerce pages on Google with local and global reach.
• Strong GA4 and Google Search Console skills and ability to report weekly.
• Comfort editing Liquid meta tags, schema markup, and Shopify templates.

• Own Google Search for ecommerce and corporate events with a focus on buying intent.
• Improve Shopify technical SEO: canonical handling, duplicate URLs, sitemap, and Core Web Vitals.
• Develop and execute content and backlink strategies; earn AI Overview citations.
• Build city landing pages for corporate clients and manage GBP visibility.
• Track inquiries, bookings, and checkout in GA4/GSC; report weekly to founder.

Job description

Eternal Jewelry is a US-based jewelry brand serving events, corporate clients, and a growing direct-to-consumer Shopify store. Our ready-to-wear line runs $100 to $1,000. We recently relaunched our site and need an SEO owner who wins on Google Search, including AI Overviews. Our focus is ecommerce sales and corporate event bookings.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Priority 1: Google Search for ecommerce

• Grow organic revenue on our Shopify store across product and collection pages
• Keyword strategy for ready-to-wear jewelry: bracelets, necklaces, lab-grown diamonds, gifting
• Rank for commercial and buying-intent queries, not just informational traffic
• Get our pages cited in OpenAI and Anthropic AI Overviews and AI Mode for target queries
• Technical SEO inside Shopify: duplicate URL handling (/collections/ vs /products/ paths), canonicals, sitemap, site speed, Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and app bloat cleanup
• Complete schema markup (Product, Organization, LocalBusiness, FAQ, Review) to win rich results

Priority 2: Google Search for corporate events

• Rank for corporate event and gifting searches: corporate gifting jewelry, employee appreciation gifts, corporate event activations, client appreciation events
• Build and optimize city landing pages for corporate clients in New York City, Boston, DC, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Philadelphia
• Google Business Profile management, Google Maps visibility, and review strategy

Content and tracking

• Blog and landing page content briefs that rank on Google and earn AI Overview citations
• Internal linking and authority building through quality backlinks, PR, and relevant directories
• Clean GA4 and Google Search Console tracking on every corporate inquiry, booking form, and checkout
• Make sure AI crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) can access the site via Shopify's robots.txt.liquid
• Bing Webmaster Tools setup, since ChatGPT search relies heavily on Bing
• Track AI referral traffic as its own channel in GA4

Reporting

• Weekly report tied to ecommerce revenue, corporate leads, Google rankings, AI Overview citations, and organic traffic. Not vanity metrics.

WHAT WE NEED

• 4+ years of hands-on Google SEO, with at least one US ecommerce or local services client
• 2+ years doing SEO specifically on Shopify stores. This is required, not a bonus.
• Proven results ranking ecommerce product and collection pages on Google
• Experience with local SEO and Google Business Profile
• Understanding of how Google AI Overviews choose sources and how to get cited
• Comfortable editing Liquid theme files for meta tags, schema, and template-level fixes
• Know Shopify's SEO limitations and workarounds: forced URL structures, tag and filter page indexing, variant URLs, blog setup
• Experience with Shopify SEO apps (JSON-LD, image optimizers, redirect managers) and knowing when not to use one
• Able to optimize product and collection pages at scale using metafields and bulk editing
• Strong GA4 and Google Search Console skills
• Proof of results: rankings or traffic you moved, with before/after data
• Clear written English and comfort with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time
• Bonus: jewelry, fashion, or luxury DTC experience
• Bonus: experience getting brands cited in ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity

WHAT WE DON'T WANT

• No agencies. This role is for an individual freelancer only. Agency applications, white-labeled teams, or anyone subcontracting the work will be rejected.
• Bulk backlink packages, PBNs, spun content, or "guaranteed #1 rankings"

TERMS

• Flexible hours. We care about results, not time logged.
• Competitive monthly retainer, paid in INR, based on experience
• Reports directly to the founder, with a weekly 30-minute call
• 30-day trial, then month to month
• Performance bonus available after 90 days for hitting agreed targets
