Job summary

GMG is seeking a seasoned Shopify Plus Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience to own our flagship storefront. You will architect, develop, and optimize high-performance, scalable and custom solutions on the Shopify platform, mentoring other developers on the team.

The role involves designing complex, responsive Shopify themes, building custom apps, integrating with critical third-party systems, and driving performance and SEO improvements across the site.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of web development experience with at least 4 years on Shopify Plus.
• Proven ability to architect, develop and optimize Shopify-based custom themes and apps.
• Strong understanding of Liquid templates and Shopify admin concepts.

Responsibilities

• Architecture, development and optimization of Shopify-based themes from scratch.
• Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps (Node.js, React, Ruby on Rails, PHP).
• Integrate with OMS, WMS, PIM and other third-party systems.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Shopify Plus Developer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience to take ownership of our flagship storefront. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing high-performance, scalable, and custom solutions on the Shopify platform. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver who can translate complex business requirements into technical reality and mentor other developers on the team.

Responsibilities:

• Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and implement complex, responsive, and user-friendly Shopify based & custom themes from scratch, adhering to best practices.
• Custom Application Development: Build and maintain custom Shopify apps using modern technologies (Node.js, React, Ruby on Rails, PHP) to extend store functionality beyond out-of-the-box features.
• Third-Party Integrations: Architect and build seamless, robust integrations with critical third-party systems (like OMS, WMS, PIM etc).
• Performance & SEO Optimization: Coordinate with Digital marketing team for ongoing audits and implement enhancements to dramatically improve site speed, core web vitals, and search engine optimization (SEO).
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developer. Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, product managers, and digital marketers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Problem Solving: Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the entire stack (front-end, back-end, APIs).

People Management:

The incumbent holds no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to engage effectively within their function and collaboratively across cross-functional teams. This role contributes meaningfully, whether through operational contributions and/or by offering specialized expertise, guidance, and support, to ensure alignment with either functional and/or strategic organizational goals and objectives.
