Job summary

Kannanware is seeking a dedicated Shift Manager to oversee daily plant operations during shifts in Tamil Nadu. You will ensure manpower availability, monitor hours, coordinate across shops for throughput, and enforce safety, quality, and MIS reporting.

Responsibilities include training cross-functional deputies, ensuring only trained personnel handle roles, evaluating performance, improving productivity, and recording deviations for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in production setup.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily plant operations during shifts.
• Coordinate across shops for manpower allocation and priority.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and enforce quality conformance.
• Prepare MIS reports and record deviations for RCA.
• Train cross-functional deputies and ensure trained personnel handle roles.
• Monitor equipment efficiency and drive productivity improvements.
• Discuss weekly and daily shift plans with the shift supervisor.

• The Shift Manager is responsible for managing daily operations in the plant during the shifts.
• Managing operations – Overall responsibility of the shift across different functions.
• Ensure the required manpower availability, monitor the standard hours
• Co-ordination between different shops for manpower allocation and priority assignment
• Ensure all defined safety practices are followed
• Product quality conformance – Ensure no deviations - Prepare RCA for deviations.
• Prepare milestones to achieve the production targets and productivity improvement
• MIS reporting – Update the records in the defined periodicity.
• Training for cross functional deputies Record the training conducted.
• Ensure only trained people are assigned for the roles.
• Performance evaluation.
• Monitor the efficiency of the equipments.
• Key Responsibilities
• Ensure all the Safety regulations are followed.
• Maintain the records of all the relevant information in shift management for MIS reporting.
• Discuss with the shift supervisor the specific plans for the week and the day wise plan in advance.
• Monitor the critical activities to ensure the process parameters are adhered.
• Record and report all the deviations
• Plan for the productivity improvement, new methods, new tools
• Analyse the NC’s.
• Training of New joiners. Sub-ordinate development.
• Resolve the issues in the shift.

Qualification and Experience

• Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 7 to 10 years in production setup.
