Job summary

Larsen & Toubro-Vyoma is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations professional to manage 24x7 electrical, mechanical, and IBMS infrastructure in a Chennai-based facility.

You will lead a shift team, ensure 100% uptime, coordinate with OEMs, and drive energy efficiency (PUE) while adhering to SOPs, safety, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on data center operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% uptime of the data center.
• Work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Manage shift team for continuous operations and uptime.
• Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for PM/BM activities.
• Prepare incident reports and RCA.
• Ensure SOP/EOP/MOP compliance.
• Coordinate with authorities for statutory compliance.
• Manage customer SLA and escalation outages.
• Oversee power provisioning and delivery.
• Maintain ISO standards and audits.
• Train site team on safety practices.
• Asset management and change requests.

Job description

Responsible for 24*7 Data Center Operations by managing electrical, mechanical and IBMS infrastructure, which includes GIS substation, Transformers, MV panels, DG, LT panels, UPS, Battery Banks, SMPS, PDU, Chillers, PAHU, Motors, Lightning arrestors, Earth Pits, Diesel Engines, CPM, VRF, Valves, VFD, Ventilation systems, CHW pipes, Pumps, Hydrant system, Plumbing, Containment, FAS, Fire detection system, FSS, VESDA, WLD, RRS, PAS, CCTV etc…

Role Description

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible to ensure 100% uptime of datacenter
• Responsible for 24*7 DC operations
• Ability to work on 24*7 rotational shifts
• Manage shift team to ensure 24*7 operations and uptime of data center
• Identify opportunities in optimizing energy for better PUE
• Responsible for Preventive, Predictive & Breakdown maintenance
• Coordinate with OEMs/Vendors for routine PM and BM activities
• Coordinate with customer for day-to-day activities
• Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reports to Management and customer
• Responsible to prepare incident report and RCA
• Ensure SOP, EOP, MOP being meticulously followed in DC operations
• Responsible for statutory compliance
• Coordinate with Electricity, CEIG, PCB etc… officials whenever required
• Manage customer SLA
• Manage customer escalation on time for closure
• Manage power provisioning and customer delivery
• Responsible for maintain and manage ISO standards
• Coordinate for risk identification, mitigations programs
• Responsible for training to site team
• Coordination for audits and compliance requirement
• Responsible for mechanical safety practices in site
• Assets management
• Responsible for uptime and availability of Data Center
• Raise Change request and for site related activity
• Responsible for PUE & WUE of data center

Qualifications and Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Diploma, Degree, Certification CDCP preferred)

Diploma/BE/B-Tech or equivalent in Electrical Engg/ Mechanical Engg

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: ( no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)

• 5-8 Years of relevant hands-on experience in data center operations
• Should have vast experience in trouble shooting and maintenance of GIS, Transformers, DG, UPS, PDU, Chiller, PAHU, Firefighting systems etc…
• Experience in handling multiple OEMs/Vendors
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem identification and incident management skills
• Exposure and working experience in IBMS and DCIM systems
