Job summary

JSW Steel Limited is seeking a highly skilled Shift Incharge to oversee operations in the Steel Melting Shop. You will coordinate shift activities, lead operators and technicians, and drive continuous improvement to meet production targets while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.

In this role you will monitor process parameters, collaborate with maintenance and Quality Control, manage inventory for melting processes, and conduct training and safety drills to enhance team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in steel manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in Steel Melting Shop or similar heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all activities during the assigned shift in the Steel Melting Shop to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor and control the steel melting process parameters to maintain product quality and meet production schedules.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the shift team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations within the shop floor.
• Analyze production data and generate shift reports highlighting performance metrics and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks and implementing best practices.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure seamless workflow.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and consumables for the melting process.
• Conduct regular training sessions and safety drills to enhance team competency.

Preferred Qualifications
