Job summary

CLR Facility Services is seeking a Shift Engineer responsible for managing ongoing shift operations at the substation. You will take over duties from the previous shift, operate per SOPs, coordinate DG operators, monitor system parameters and respond to alarms with safety and continuity as top priorities.

You will document activities, communicate events to Helpdesk, ensure EHS and 5S compliance, and hand over duties to the next shift engineer. A proactive and cooperative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take over shift activity from the previous shift engineer.
• Operate the substation as per operation requirements and SOPs.
• Coordinate and issue operational instructions to DG operators for smooth operation.
• Monitor parameters and track trips and alarms during the shift.
• Initial troubleshooting in case of any alarm, tripping or abnormality.
• Decide the best operation option under given situations with safety, equipment and continuity as priorities.
• Communicate all shift events per reporting procedures.
• Be the single contact point for all communication with Helpdesk.
• Issue all work permits and receive back permits with care for EHS.
• Promptly record all activities in the shift register.
• Hand over shift activity to the next shift engineer with proper documentation.
• Ensure EHS rules are followed at site.
• Ensure that 5S is followed at all work locations.
• Behave professionally, be polite, cooperate and share with all.
• Be pro-active and seek to learn to increase competency.
