A ServiceNow Technical Architect involvesdesigns, leads, and governs enterprise-scale and implementing ServiceNow solutions, providing technical leadership, and ensuring alignment with business needs.Key responsibilities include creating high-level designs, leading development for modules like ITSM(NLU GenAI, Now Assist LLM), ITOM (Visibility HRSD, CSM, and Event Management, Performance Analytics, Operation Intelligent, RCA), SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management), ITAM, CMDB( Discovery, AI performance Insight, Service Mapping), customizing the platform, conducting testing, and mentoring other team members.This role bridges business objectives with technical execution, requiring expertise in platform capabilities, scripting, integrations, and modern development practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design: Create architectural blueprints, data models, and integration strategies across core modules like ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and App Engine.
- Platform Governance & Strategy: Define technical standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for configurations, custom applications, and automated workflows.
- Integration Oversight: Architect robust integrations between ServiceNow and external enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Azure, custom APIs) using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers.
- Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Guide development teams, review complex code or low-code designs, and ensure long-term platform health and performance optimization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution by advising product owners, enterprise architects, and executive leadership
- Platform development:
- Lead the development and implementation of ServiceNow applications and custom configurations, including scripting.
- Integration:
- Design and implement integrations with third-party tools and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Workday Integration.
- Testing and quality assurance:
- Perform system and integration testing to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Stakeholder collaboration:
- Work closely with stakeholders to define architectural strategy and ensure solutions align with business objectives and key initiatives.
- Core Certifications:
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) across key modules Like ITSM, HRSD, Discovery, CMDB
- Certified Application Developer & Administrator - CAD & CSA
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Master Architect (CMA) (highly preferred)
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to present technical strategies to non-technical audiences
- Project experience:
- A history of leading and delivering ServiceNow implementation projects (e.g., ITSM, CSM, ITOM) end-to-end.
- Domain expertise:
Experience with multiple ServiceNow product lines is often required, such as IT Operations Management (ITOM), Customer Service Management (CSM), or IT Asset Management (ITAM).
