This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer - HRSD + Service Portal based in India.

This is a senior technical role focused on designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
You will work across HRSD, Service Portal, ITSM, integrations, workflows, and related platform capabilities to deliver scalable solutions for complex customer environments.
The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and solution design.
You will translate functional and technical requirements into robust configurations, customizations, integrations, and platform experiences.
The position involves collaborating with end users, IT teams, technical SMEs, and project stakeholders throughout implementation and delivery.
You will also contribute to testing, production support, documentation, platform governance, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor Software Engineers delivering ServiceNow development and professional-services projects.

• Gather and analyze requirements from end users, IT teams, technical SMEs, and business stakeholders across ITSM, HRSD, and Service Portal.

• Design, configure, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications based on functional and technical requirements and established engineering standards.

• Develop and maintain ServiceNow integrations with external applications using REST and SOAP web services, MID Servers, cloud-to-cloud integrations, and bi-directional automated interfaces.

• Configure application UI, workflows, work orders, transfer orders, inventory capabilities, technician locations, and related platform functionality as required.

• Support ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Software Asset Management, ITSM, Service Catalog, and workflow implementations.

• Collaborate with technical SMEs to gather environment information and support service mapping and event-management initiatives.

• Define and validate impact-assessment rules within service maps and coordinate validation with technical stakeholders.

• Participate in user acceptance testing for service maps, impact rules, event-management capabilities, and related solutions.

• Manage update sets and data promotion across applicable ServiceNow environments.

• Investigate and remediate production incidents related to assigned platform functionality and integrations.

• Work closely with technical leads to maintain consistent architectural patterns and avoid conflicts across shared ServiceNow capabilities.

• Produce technical design documents, operational documentation, SOPs, and user-facing materials to support sustainable platform operations.

• Apply ServiceNow development best practices across scripting, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve platform functionality, operational efficiency, supportability, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience supporting ServiceNow implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development across at least two capabilities such as ITSM, HRSD, or Service Portal.

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow HRSD and Service Portal, combined with broader ServiceNow platform knowledge.

• Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems using MID Servers, cloud-to-cloud integrations, REST, SOAP, and bi-directional automated interfaces.

• Knowledge of data extraction and integration technologies such as JDBC, ODBC, and ETL.

• Proven experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Software Asset Management, ITSM, Service Catalog, and Workflows.

• Deep understanding of ServiceNow CMDB and associated processes.

• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Builder, Scripted REST APIs, and Script Includes.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and explain technical concepts clearly to customers and stakeholders.

• Experience creating technical design documentation, user documentation, operational procedures, and other delivery artifacts.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate complex platform, integration, and production issues.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities across technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to lead and mentor engineering team members while maintaining high standards of development quality.

• Four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Willingness to continuously develop ServiceNow expertise and complete relevant platform certifications and module accreditations.

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) certifications are preferred.

• ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
