Job summary

IBA Proton Therapy, a world leader in proton therapy solutions, is seeking a Service Engineer to support advanced medical devices and proton therapy systems at our Navi-Mumbai site in India.

You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous improvement of cyclotrons, beamlines, and patient positioning systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar).
  • Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in maintenance, field service, or troubleshooting of complex systems.
  • Organized, autonomous, proactive, and a team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of proton therapy systems and medical equipment to support patient treatments and clinical activities.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electromechanical and electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, electronic, and software components.
  • Contribute to software testing, validation, and new developments.
  • Execute system upgrades and improvements in collaboration with RD teams.
  • Communicate system status clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Document maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance using appropriate tools.

Join IBA, a world leader in proton therapy solutions, and play a key role in the fight against cancer. As a Service Engineer, you will work on advanced medical devices and proton therapy systems, supporting clinical operations and ensuring optimal performance of cutting edge technology.

Based on-site in Navi-Mumbai, India, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous improvement of complex systems such as cyclotrons, beamlines, and patient positioning systems.

As a Service Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure the proper operation of proton therapy systems and medical equipment to support patient treatments and clinical activities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electromechanical and electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, electronic, and software components
  • Contribute to software testing, validation, and new developments.

Your profile
  • Degree in Engineering (Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar) or relevant technical experience in field service, maintenance, or troubleshooting
  • Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Analytical thinker, able to identify root causes of technical issues
  • Candidate should have experience in several of the following: Mechanical Systems , Electrical, X-Ray Systems, cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems, Drivers, Sensors, Electric Motors, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, etc.
  • Organized, autonomous, proactive a Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
And also
  • Willing to work rotating shifts (between 6AM and 11PM) during the week and weekends (with time off during the week)
  • Good manual dexterity to work with tools.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly and be able to work on a computer and on video calls.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, go up and down ladders and stairs, and safely work at heights with a safety harness, etc.
  • Work with hazardous materials, high voltage, and pressurized gases.
  • Occupational exposure to radiation, live electrical work, handling hazardous materials, and other occupational hazards pertaining to the maintenance of the Proton Therapy equipment. IBA has an Environmental Health and Safety program in place to monitor radiation exposure tracking internal limits to ensure compliance with applicable radiation laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Compensation package

The total guaranteed annual compensation range (which includes annual base salary, as well as flexible budget if applicable, and car budget in specific locations) for this position is provided below:

Total gross guaranteed annual compensation range: 7,50,000 - 13,38,000.

The salary range indicated above is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects the typical compensation scope for this position based on the roles level of responsibility, required expertise, and location. The actual offer will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account objective and gender-neutral factors including relevant professional experience, qualifications, specific competencies, and internal equity. The range does not constitute a guaranteed salary and is subject to adjustment based on the final assessment of the selected candidates profile. The role might also qualify for additional compensation elements such as variable pay, profit sharing, and benefits which are not reflected in this range.
