Job summary

Saini Electrical Engineering Pvt Ltd is seeking a procurement and vendor development professional to manage supplier qualification, cost optimization, and APQP/PPAP activities. The role involves collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure supplier processes meet product requirements and timelines.

You will drive cross-functional supplier initiatives, negotiate costs, review drawings, and push continuous improvement across the supply base.

Qualifications

• Experience in vendor development and cost reduction initiatives.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Strong negotiation and costing skills.
• Knowledge of ERP and P2P cycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop new vendors including castings, forgings, fabrication parts and machined components.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to qualify components and support production issues.
• Develop suppliers to reduce cost, increase capacity, and audit for process conformance.
• Lead supplier component development and APQP/PPAP activities and supplier interactions.
• Support new product launches with supplier milestones.
• Collaborate with engineering to define process parameters to meet requirements.
• Monitor manufacturing trends and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Manage procurement-to-pay and supplier performance against project timelines.
• Ensure supplier services align with project schedules.

Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities will include New vendor development (castings, forgings, fabrication parts & machined components), Electrical & Electrical Components
• Cross-functional coordination to qualify new components, supporting issues with current production, developing new suppliers to reduce cost, increase capacity and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.
• Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support. Work on multiple phases or sub-tasks of projects, with results impacting on project completion.
• Experience in Cost Estimation, Knowledge of Quality Management System
• Responsible for leading the solution for supplier component concerns, driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development and approval and supplier cost improvements
• Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved
• Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements. 8.
• Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities
• Follow-up for manufacturing parts from vendor knowledge of Machine, costing, ERP, Purchasing cycle from procuring to pay (P2P)
• Managing and ensuring vendor suppliers and services according to project timelines

Skills to have:

• Should have good skills of costing and negotiate cost with supplier along with required quality level.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering discipline, and quality processes.
• Technical background, with ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD Models.
• Proven experience as a vendor development personnel
• Excellent interpersonal skills
