Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Bengaluru seeks an experienced embedded validation engineer to drive USB firmware validation, test automation and embedded device testing. You will implement automation in Python and PowerShell, and work in a lab to validate devices across test scenarios.

You will collaborate with firmware teams, reproduce issues, and contribute to long-term project engagements, applying strong embedded systems knowledge and hands-on lab skills.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in embedded system based validation and test automation.
• Strong skills in Python, Automation, and PowerShell; hands-on USB-C/PD validation preferred.
• Experience developing test automation infrastructure for embedded devices.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, USB and C.

Responsibilities

• Validate USB firmware and perform regression testing.
• Develop and maintain test automation for embedded devices.
• Configure test labs, reproduce issues and collaborate with firmware developers.

Job description

4-8 years of experience in embedded system based validation and test automation. The candidate should have strong technical skills in Python, Automation, PowerShell and preferably, hands-on experience in validation of USB-C/PD.

Skill Requirements

• A solid understanding of validation methodologies using automation is essential.
• Strong experience in Azure DevOps or CI/CD test automation frameworks
• Experience in Python and PowerShell
• Experience developing test automation infrastructure for embedded devices
• Hands on experience with configuring test devices and working in a lab environment
• Familiar with identifying and raising bugs, setting up the environment to reproduce issues and collaborating with FW devs.
• Experience with microcontrollers, computer vision are a plus
• Very good in Embedded systems concepts and Embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB), experience in C.
• The candidate should be available for long-term engagement on this project
• Should have a strong interest in both automation and manual bug repro.
