Job summary

Photon is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer for Retail Banking & Payments. The role requires hands-on expertise in building automation frameworks and UI/API automation, testing complex banking workflows, and validating end-to-end processes.

The candidate should be proficient in Java, Python, or JavaScript with hands-on experience using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured. Experience with North America Retail Banking workflows is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium and at least one modern automation tool such as Playwright or Cypress.
• Strong experience in API Testing and REST Assured.
• Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle or DB2.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance UI and API automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate REST APIs including payloads, status codes, authentication, and data validation.
• Perform backend data validation using SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Automate and validate web, desktop, mainframe, file/PDF, and email workflows.
• Test end-to-end banking and payment transactions (ACH, Wires, RTP, Bill Pay, Cards).
• Validate customer onboarding, account servicing, transaction processing, and core banking workflows.
• Analyze requirements and create test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test data.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects across SDLC.
• Collaborate with developers, BAs, product teams, and stakeholders to resolve defects.
• Build reusable automation components and frameworks; integrate with CI/CD and GitHub.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of QA processes.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in test automation and Retail Banking & Payments. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in developing automation frameworks, UI and API automation, functional and regression testing, and validating complex banking and payment workflows.

The candidate should have strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript and practical experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured.

Experience working with North America Retail Banking and Payments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance UI and API automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured.

• Proactively identify testing risks, dependencies, quality gaps, and potential automation opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation standards, and testing methodologies.
• Explore and implement AI/LLM and GenAI‑based testing and automation capabilities where applicable.

Required Skills
