Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a seasoned Tendering Lead to manage complex data center opportunities in the India zone. You will coordinate with commercial teams, technical leaders, and SMEs to craft winning offers and budgets for VIP customers.

You will oversee the tender process from strategy to execution, lead cross-functional teams, and drive risk mitigation and productivity improvements across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in Solution Tendering &/or Customer project environment.
  • 5 years of successful experience in project team management, remote team management a plus.
  • Fluent English; other languages are a plus.

  • Lead tender strategy and budgeting with commercial team for India VIP opportunities.
  • Be the single point of contact to commercial team and customer during offer preparation.
  • Manage pipeline of opportunities and coordinate with technical leader, factories and SMEs for winning offers.
  • Drive internal tender review and approvals before submission to customer.
  • Support negotiations with customer post-offer submission and ensure alignment with approved mandate.

Job description

In charge of the tendering of the Data Center oppties of VIP customers in the India zone.

During the pre-tender stage and with the support of the commercial team, technical leader and global team
  • 1. Promote, influence, prescribe Schneider Electric technologies & value-add to maximize chance of success during tender stage.
  • 2. Manage the pipeline of opportunities to be tendered with the account(s) in the India zone and launch any actions with stakeholder that will enable Schneider Electric to be set for success during tender & execution.
During the tender stage,
  • 1. Be the single point of contact to the commercial team and customer during the offer preparation.
  • 2. Contribute to the tender strategy definition with the commercial team, define the tendering team (local/regional) as well as the tender budget required to bid the oppty.
  • 3. Be accountable & responsible for executing the tender strategy of the portfolio of opportunities of your VIP customer(s) in the India zone.
  • 4. With the support of the technical leader, factories & other support function team, lead the project execution costing.
  • 5. With the support of the Subject Matters Experts (Finance, Contract mgt, Tax, Logistics, Puchasing…) asssess the overall project risk profile & set appropriate mitigation plans.
  • 6. Leverage lessons learned gathered from previous tenders/projects to mitigate risk during execution & drive productivity and support the price positioning.
  • 7. With the support of the commercial team, global team & technical leader, make sure the offer being prepared meets customer key success criteria (price, leadtime, consistency with previous offers ....) while addressing local specificities (tax, local regulations….).
  • 8. When needed, challenge deliverables of team and suppliers to ensure we have a "winning offer" to submit.
  • 9. Remain in constant communication with the commercial team to validate the positioning of our offer, confirm the offer submission schedule while meeting company project processes.
  • 10. Lead the internal tender review and internal approval process before submitting the offer to customer
After submission of the offer:
  • 1. Support the account team during negotiations with customer
  • 2. Strive to reach mutual agreement during negociation with customer while remaining in the approved mandate defined during the internal tender review/approval gate.
  • 3. Before signing customer purchase order, ensure it falls under the pre-approved mandate. If not, assess gaps and seek mgt approval or re-negotiate with customer.
  • 4. Lead the transfer to execution & gather lessons learned for future oppties.

  • Preferred University Master Degree (Engineering and/or Business)
  • Fluent English.
  • Other languages are a plus.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in Solution Tendering &/or Customer project environment, with experience in complex tender / projects
  • 5 years successful experience in project team management (functional management), remote project team management is a plus
  • Experience in Datacenter environement is a strong plus
Skills
  • Proven ability to lead functional and remote team including various profiles (Local TM, Contract, Technical, SMEs...)
  • Ability to understand, influence & convince in a complex matrixial environment
  • Aptitude to withstand time pressure and stress while keeping high performance level
  • Ability to learn from others, share her/his knowledge, coach others and collaborate efficiently.
