Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to develop and maintain high-quality documentation for Wireless Products’ SoCs, modules, development boards, and related software/tools.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, applications, validation, product management, and marketing teams to translate complex wireless and embedded technologies into clear, customer-focused materials. The role requires independent ownership and adherence to editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Strong technical writing, editing, and information-development skills.
• Good understanding of wireless technologies, embedded systems, semiconductor products, and software/firmware.
• Ability to document hardware features, register maps, APIs, commands, configuration parameters, and workflows.
• Experience with datasheets, user guides, application notes, developer guides, reference manuals, programming specifications, product briefs, and online documentation.
• XML/DITA, structured authoring, content reuse, and single-sourcing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Oxygen XML Editor, Tridion Docs, FrameMaker, Inkscape, Jira, and Confluence is an advantage.
• Strong collaboration, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet product release schedules.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for wireless SoCs, modules, development boards, and associated software/tools.
• Work with hardware, firmware, applications, validation, product management, and marketing teams to gather and validate technical information.
• Independently own documentation deliverables from planning and content development through review and release.
• Review engineering specifications, register maps, and other technical inputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and usability.
• Develop technical diagrams, tables, workflows, and other visual content as required.
• Ensure documentation follows Microchip documentation standards, templates, terminology, and editorial guidelines.
• Drive content reuse, structured authoring, and documentation process improvements across the wireless product portfolio.
• Coordinate technical reviews, resolve feedback, and ensure timely completion of documentation deliverables.
• Leverage AI and automation where appropriate to improve documentation development, review, and publishing efficiency.

The role involves working closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to translate complex wireless and embedded technologies into clear, accurate, and customer-focused documentation.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with 5-8 years of experience in technical writing or technical documentation.
• Travel Time: No Travel
