Job summary

LRQA invites experienced engineers to oversee surveys of design, manufacture and in‑service assets for compliance with Codes, Standards and procedures. You will assess activities against defined scope, prepare reports and discuss results with internal and external clients.

Leading client relationships, you’ll seek new opportunities, ensure health and safety compliance for your team, and mentor staff. A relevant bachelor’s degree, professional certifications, and 8+ years in inspection roles are

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering from a recognised university.
  • ASME AI or IBR Competent Person certification; professional body membership preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with knowledge of codes, standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; strong written and verbal English; effective interpersonal skills.

  • Produce deliverables (reports/certificates/documents) within broad parameters and review others’ work.
  • Discuss and present deliverables to internal/external clients at senior level and suggest solutions.
  • Manage client relationships and identify new opportunities to grow the business.
  • Ensure activities comply with procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance for self and team with appropriate training and resources.

Job description

Role Purpose:

Perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures.

Key responsibilities:
  • Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees work as requested.
  • Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve Service Delivery and to help build the business.
  • Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities.
  • Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Manage your own, and your team’s compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering) from a recognised University, or equivalent.
  • Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications.
  • Qualification as ASME AI or IBR Competent Person or both are required for the role. Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
  • Shall possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience (minimum 8 years) to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge, and application.
  • Competent in MS Office suite of softwareProficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
