Job summary

LRQA stands for dedication to clients, market firsts, and deep expertise in risk management. This role performs surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures.

You will lead technical inspections, produce deliverables, present results to clients at a senior level, manage LRQA relationships, and help win new opportunities within the region while ensuring compliance with health and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Production Engineering.
• Certification as ASME AI or IBR Competent Person preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in design, manufacture or inspection.
• Trade/technical qualifications or professional body membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within budget and contractual requirements.
• Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters and review colleagues’ work as requested.
• Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
• Contribute to client management by acting as point of contact to manage LRQA relationships and help build the business.
• Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
• Manage own and team's compliance with health and safety rules and ensure resources are available to work safely.

Role Purpose:

Perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
• Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees work as requested.
• Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
• Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve Service Delivery and to help build the business.
• Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities.
• Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
• Manage your own, and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering) from a recognised University, or equivalent.
• Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications.
• Qualification as ASME AI or IBR Competent Person are highly desired and will be given preference.
• Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
• Shall possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience (minimum 8 years) to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge, and application.
• Competent in MS Office suite of software
• Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal)
• Effective interpersonal skills
