Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Mechanical FE Analyst with 3-6 years of experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS. The role emphasizes high-fidelity meshing of complex structures and linear/non-linear modeling in turbomachinery domains.

You will set up simulations, run static thermal, structural and modal analyses, assess bolted joints, and conduct fatigue and fracture analysis. The position requires independence and teamwork, with clear communication to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering with 3–6 years of experience in finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS (Workbench & APDL).
  • Experience in turbomachinery domain (gas & steam turbine) with casings and rotors is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of ANSYS element library, material models, and APDL scripting.
  • Experience with ACT and Python scripting is advantageous.
  • UG NX modeling experience including SpaceClaim or Design Modeller is required.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in FE meshing of complex structures using 1D, 2D and 3D elements in ANSYS/NX; Helical hexahedral and tetrahedral meshes with transitions; Hypermesh is a plus.
  • Model setup including material, boundary conditions, loads and contact; linear and nonlinear analyses.
  • Perform static thermal, structural and modal analyses; experience in transient thermal, harmonic and buckling analyses is beneficial.
  • Bolted joint assessment using reduced order and 3D modeling approaches.
  • Fatigue analysis (LCF/HCF); thermo-mechanical fatigue, fracture mechanics and creep analyses are a plus.
  • Validate results, document assessments with summaries and conclusions; participate in reviews and present to stakeholders.

Job Description
  • Candidate needs to be proficient in FE meshing of complex structure using 1D, 2D, & 3D elements. Needs at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in creating hexahedral, tetrahedral, and combined mesh with transition in ANSYS/NX CAE. Hypermesh meshing experience will be added advantage.
  • Needs to perform model set-up including but not limited to, material, boundary condition, load, & contact application in ANSYS. Needs to have good understanding and experience in linear & non-linear modeling.
  • Needs to perform static thermal, structural and modal analyses. Experience in transient thermal, harmonic and buckling analyses will be added advantage.
  • Needs to perform bolted joint assessment with reduced order and 3D modeling approaches.
  • Needs to perform fatigue (LCF and HCF) analysis. Work experience in thermo-mechanical fatigue, fracture mechanics and creep analyses will be added advantage.
  • Needs to validate the results and document the assessment along with results summary and conclusion.
  • Needs to participate in internal & external reviews and present the assessment to stakeholders.
  • Needs to perform the task in timely manner with high quality.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals especially in solid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, and theory of failure. Fundamental knowledge of Finite element methods will be added advantage.

  • Should be able to work independently with minimal hand holding.
  • Should be a good team player and take ownership of the task.
