Job summary

Speed Global in Pune requires a junior FEA engineer to perform geometry cleanup, meshing, and FE modelling using ANSYS Workbench. You will engage with customers to define scope, prepare reports, and ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate holds an M.Tech in ME or related field with 0–2 years of FEA experience, and has solid fundamentals in engineering principles and reporting. Knowledge of SpaceClaim and ANSYS is essential.

Qualifications

• M.Tech in ME/Design with 0–2 years FEA using ANSYS Workbench.
• Carry out analytical calculations from first principles.
• Interpret results and propose design improvements.
• Experience: Static, Modal, Fatigue; thermo-mechanical is a plus.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with the customer to clearly define and understand the project’s scope thoroughly, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Document/Report generation for geometry consideration, material properties, scope & approach, acceptance criteria, input data required, Queries, Deliverables etc.
• Perform Geometry Clean-up, Meshing using Spaice claim, ANSYS Workbench software
• Preparation of FE model
• Meshing
• Assigning material properties, Contacts & Boundary conditions
• Validation of results through sanity checks, comparing the results against acceptance criteria.
• Propose design recommendations based on the results to meet acceptance criteria or to optimize the design.
• Prepare comprehensive analysis reports summarizing the project findings.
• Regularly engage with customers to discuss project status, provide updates, ensure timely deliveries, and adhere to project timelines.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of the project independently, prepare for review meetings at key stages, and ensure deadlines are met effectively.

Experience and Skills Required:

• M. Tech in ME / MTech in Design/Mechanical/Automobile/CAD-CAM/Aerospace Engineering with 0 to 2 years of Experience in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS Workbench software
• Ability to carry out analytical calculations using first principles / engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to understand and comprehend requirements, understand operating environment of the component and system, define analysis approach with appropriate boundary conditions and define appropriate acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret analysis results and provide design recommendations.
• Experience on Static (Linear and Non-Linear), Modal analysis and Fatigue assessment.
• Exposure to Thermo-Mechanical analysis, Transient Structural analysis will be added advantage
• Good understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) theory and practices.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
• Good proficiency in FEA tools:
• Mandatory - Hands-on experience on Spaceclaim, ANSYS Workbench
• Good to Have – ANSYS APDL, Hypermesh
• Good skills in MS-office tools. Ability to create reports and documentation.
