Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Bengaluru seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement robust software for automotive Ethernet switches, ensuring ISO 26262 ASIL B compliance and MISRA C adherence. You will derive requirements, model architectures, and drive verification through HIL testing.

The role requires 9+ years in embedded software, strong C expertise for RTOS/bare-metal, and Python for test automation, with hands-on hardware debugging and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Minimum 9 years of hands-on embedded software design and development, with 2–3 years in automotive or safety-critical domains.
• Expert-level C programming for RTOS and bare-metal development; Python skills for test automation are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust embedded software for ethernet switch, adhering to safety standards (ISO 26262 ASIL B) and coding guidelines (e.g., MISRA C).
• Derive and document software requirements and test specifications from system-level requirements, ensuring full traceability within the V-Model process.
• Model and design software architecture using UML (e.g., PlantUML), defining component interfaces, state machines, and sequence diagrams.
• Set up and maintain development environments (IDE, Build Systems) and automated test setups, including Unit Testing frameworks to ensure high code quality and coverage.
• Conduct software integration testing and debugging on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Hardware, System Engineering, Validation) to troubleshoot interdisciplinary problems and optimize system performance.

Your role

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
• Minimum 9 years of hands-on embedded software design and development, with at least 2–3 years in automotive or safety-critical domains
• Expert-level C programming for for RTOS and bare-metal development; Python skills for test automation are highly preferred
• Hardware & Debugging: Comfortable working with microcontrollers, sensors, and lab equipment; proficient with debugging/tracing tools (e.g., Lauterbach TRACE32, Vector CANoe, or JTAG/SWD)
• Proven experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ASIL B) and automotive development processes (Automotive SPICE)
• Basic understanding of Ethernet stack protocols is a strong plus
• Excellent team player with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
